Dan Walker

Walker brings 33 years of coaching experience to the Idaho State track and field staff. He will coach ISU in the pole vault and throws.

In his time with Weber State, Walker coached 15 All-Americans and three NCAA high jump champions. Eight All-Americans competed in the high jump, five competed in the javelin throw, one competed in the triple jump and another competed in the men’s heptathlon. Walker has coached Big Sky Conference champions in each field event.
 
Walker was named the Big Sky Conference Coach of the Year in 2010 after leading the men’s track and field team to a conference championship title. He has been a part of 41 Big Sky championships between track and field and cross country. During his tenure as head coach, WSU had 11 top-three conference finishes.
 
Walker enrolled at Weber State after graduating from Ben Lomond High with the school record in the mile. At WSU he competed in cross country and track and field before graduating with a degree in Medical Technology in 1975.
