Eugene, OR---Idaho State linebacker Bart Brooks has been named to the First Team Verizon All-Academic District VIII team, announced Greg Walker, coordinator of the All-District Team. Brooks will now advance to the national All-American ballot, which will be released on December 2.
Brooks has helped lead ISU to the brink of an NCAA I-AA playoff spot for the first time since 1983. The 6-3 Bengals have two games left, against Cal Poly and at Southern Utah. The Bengals must win those games to be eligible for the playoffs. Brooks leads the Bengals in tackles with 79, and he has eight tackles for loss. He is majoring in management, and currently has a 3.50 grade point average.
