Tucker, Gorny Strong, But ISU Volleyball Falls to Montana State

Bozeman, MT---Melanie Tucker and Ali Gorny both posted double-doubles, but it wasn't enough as the Idaho State Bengals fell to the hot-hitting Montana State Bobcats, 30-23, 30-28, 30-15, in Big Sky Conference volleyball action Saturday night at Shroyer Gymnasium.

Tucker, a senior from Escondido, CA, led the Bengals in both kills with 16 and digs with 10, in posting her seventh double-double of the season. Gorny, a sophomore from Littlerock, CA, had her seventh double-double of the season, just one night after picking up her third triple-double of the season. Gorny had 12 kills and 19 assists.

As a team the Bengals hit .162, but had 27 attack errors in three games, while MSU hit .364 with just nine errors in the match. The Bobcats also had 13.5 blocks in the match, while the Bengals had none for the first time this season.

Aimee Halyk led the way for the Bobcats with 16 kills against no errors in 28 attacks for a .571 attack percentage. LeAnn Kinvig added 11 kills, against no errors in 26 attacks. She also led the team in digs with 15 to post a double-double.

With the loss the Bengals fall to 9-15 overall and 3-8 in Big Sky play. Montana State improved to 18-8 and 8-3. Idaho State will return to action on Wednesday when it hosts the University of Washington at Reed Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
