Portland State defeats ISU Volleyball in Three Games

Pocatello, ID---The Portland State Vikings handed the Idaho State Bengals their third straight loss, 30-23, 30-23, 30-24, dimming the Bengals chances of making the Big Sky Tournament in a BSC volleyball match Saturday afternoon at Reed Gymnasium.

The Vikings made just 13 attack errors in three games, while posting 36 kills. PSU had an attack percentage of .187 to ISU's .076. ISU had 47 kills in the three-game match, but had 36 attack errors.

Ali Gorny led the way for the Bengals with 17 kills. Richell Wilson was the only Viking in double figures in kills with 10. She also had nine digs.

With the loss the Bengals fall to 9-17 overall and 3-10 in Big Sky Conference play. The Vikings improve to 9-12 and 3-9. The Vikings now hold the tiebreaker in the race for the sixth and final spot in the Big Sky Tournament as they swept the Bengals in the season series. To qualify for the BSC Tournament the Bengals will have to defeat Weber State in their season finale, then hope that PSU loses its final two matches of the season.
