Pocatello, ID -- David Schroeder hit for a career-high 26 points, including 4-of-8 beyond the arc as the Bengals defeated Eastern Oregon 86-68 to raise their record to 5-4 and win their fourth straight game.
The Bengals against shot well, hitting on 47.8 percent of their shots from the field, and 68.0 percent from the line. Scott Henry also added his fifth double-double of the season, and his third in a row.
The Bengals and Eastern Oregon (3-5) came out on first in the first half, with Eastern shooting .621 and ISU .559, but the Bengals has a 50-42 lead after scoring the final eight points of the half.
The Mountaineers hung around until the 16:47 mark of the second half, when ISU went on a 9-2 run to give themselves a 64-51 lead. After an Eastern free throw, the Bengals scored eight more points to salt the game away. The Bengals led by as many as 23 late in the game.
Scott Henry's double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds went along with Schroeder's 26 points, and Rashad Kirkland's 11 points off the bench. Point guard Marquis Poole had six assists and only one turnover, that coming 11 seconds into the game.
The Benglas take on UMKC on Friday at 5:35 pm in the opening round of the Utah State Gossner Foods Classic.
