Bengals Struggle with BYU's Height, Lose 77-58

Provo, UT---Idaho State couldn't match with Brigham Young's size as the Cougars defeated the Bengals 77-58 to extend the nation's longest home court winning streak to 43 games.

The Bengals hung in for the first nine minutes, taking a 20-15 lead with 11:08 to go in the first half on an Arzelle Lewis three-pointer, but the Bengals would muster just one field goal, an Alvin Brooks driving layup at the 4:37 mark, the rest of the half. Idaho State ended the half just 1-for-14 from the field as BYU outscored the Bengals 19-3 to take a 34-23 lead into the locker room.

Idaho State never was able to climb back within 10 points In the second half as ISU struggled to contain 6-11 Brazilian Rafael Araujo, who scored a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. The Cougars outrebounded ISU 40-18. ISU was outrebounded by Utah State in their last outing 50-23.

Jeremy Brown scored 13 points to lead ISU, and Scott Henry hit double-figures for the 11th time in 12 games with 10 points. Henry, Rashad Kirkland, Marquis Poole, and Brown all had three rebounds each.

The Bengals now return home to Reed Gym for three games next week, on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday against Cal State Fullerton, Montana, and Montana State. ISU is 3-0 at home this season.
