Boise, ID--Boise State University handed the Idaho State University men's tennis team its second straight loss to start the season with a 7-0 decision at the Boas Tennis Center Saturday afternoon.
The Broncos started the matched sweeping all three doubles positions for the doubles team point. Marcus Berntson and Guillaume Bouvier defeated Mal Swan and Adam Krupp, 8-3, at number one. Thomas Schoeck and Matias Silva defeated the Bengals' Hestian Stoica and Butch Stavaridis, 8-4, at two. And at three, Boise State's Mahmoud Rezk and Beck Roghaar defeated Chris Sedek and Jeremy Okoh, 8-5.
In singles, Berntson defeated Swan at number one, 6-1 6-2. Bouvier defeated Stoic at number two, 6-0 6-2. Schoeck defeated Stavaridis at number three, 6-3 6-4. At four, Rezk defeated Krupp, 6-2 6-4. Silva defeated Okoh at number five, 6-4 6-4. Roghaar defeated Pablo Garcia at number six, 6-2 6-0.
ISU falls to 0-2 on the season with the loss. The Bengals will return to action on Wednesday, January 29 at 1:00 p.m. at the ISU Indoor Tennis Courts.
