Pocatello, ID --- Freshman David Schroeder drilled six three-pointers, part of his career-high tying 26 points, and Jeremy Brown added a near triple-double as the Bengals avenged an earlier loss to Northern Arizona with a 90-76 win over the Lumberjacks, putting ISU in a playoff clinching situation on Saturday night.

Brown, who missed the Montana loss due to his suspension, came off the bench to record 16 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. It was Schroeder however, who was nearly unstoppable. He was 6-for-8 from the three-point line, and he scored 15 points after the intermission.

The Bengals were able to put the clamps on Ryan McDade, who despite getting another double-double, had only 14 points and 11 rebounds. McDade had 30 in each of his previous two contests.

A win on Saturday by ISU coupled with an NAU loss at Weber State would put ISu into the Big Sky tournament for only the second time in the last six years.

A close game throughout the first half, the Bengals broke a late 39-39 tie with a pair of Brown baskets in the final 48 seconds of the first half for a 43-39 lead. ISU then opened the second half on a 13-3 run to take a 56-42 lead at the 14:37 mark. NAU came back as Stephen Garnett drained three threes, and a four-point run by Kelly Golob got the 'Jacks back to within five at 62-57 at the 9:44 mark, but ISU went on a 14-3 run to go up 76-60, and NAU never got closer than 11 after that.

Along with Schroeder's 26 and Brown's 16, Scott Henry added 14, Danny Boticki had 12, as did Arzelle Lewis. Idaho State improved to 8-0 all-time under Doug Oliver when five player reach double-figures, and 6-0 when breaking the 90-point barrier.
