Bengals Drop Rematch with Weber State 87-70

Feb. 8, 2003

Box Score

Pocatello, ID - Weber State shot a superb .635 from the field, a number Idaho State couldn't overcome as the Wildcats won 87-70 in Ogden, sweeping the two-game back-to-back swing.

Idaho State bolted out to a 5-0 lead, but the Wildcats answered with an 11-0 run of their own, and ISU never led again. The Bengals trailed by double-digits most of the night, and all of the second half, although a David Schroeder three at the halftime buzzer made it a nine-point game at the half.

Every time Idaho State started to climb back into the game, the Wildcats seemed to either hit a big three, or Jermaine Boyette created a basket underneath. Boyette finished with a game-high 23 points. For the Bengals, Scott Henry netted 14, Rashad Kirkland had 12 and Alvin Brooks had 10.

The Bengals shot a season-best .938 from the free throw line on 15-of-16 shooting and only commited 12 turnovers, but a 35-29 Weber State rebound advantage and .471 SU's own .393 shooting told the story.
