Pocatello, ID---Led by strong performances up and down the lineup, the Idaho State men's tennis team rolled to its third straight win with a 7-0 defeat of Portland State in Big Sky Conference men's tennis action Friday afternoon at the ISU Outdoor Tennis Courts.
Idaho State swept through the doubles matches, dropping no more than three games in any match, then equaled that domination in the singles portion. No Bengal lost more than four games in a singles match as ISU shut out the Vikings.
Malcolm Swan won his 19th singles match of the season, defeating Beau Smith, 6-1, 6-0. With his win in doubles, Swan now has 30 combined wins on the season, giving him 100 for his career, a rare feat for any player.
With the win the Bengals improved to 6-9 overall on the season and 2-0 in Big Sky Conference play. Portland State fell to 3-16 overall and 1-5 in BSC play. ISU will have a pair of key matches on Saturday when they host Northern Arizona and Eastern Washington in Pocatello. ISU will face NAU at 1:00 p.m. and EWU at 4:00 p.m. at the ISU outdoor tennis courts.
