Box Score

Pocatello, ID -- Marquis Poole scored a career-high 33 points, but it wasn't enough as Northern Arizona shot over 50% and improved to a perfect 3-0 on the road in the Big Sky with a 92-86 win over Idaho State.

Poole, who dropped in 19 in the first half, was 15-for-25 to go along with six rebounds and five assists. The Bengals led at the half despite NAU shooting .556 in the half. The Bengals were helped by committing just one turnover, and they made just five the entire game.

Northern Arizona used three straight three-pointers to take a 64-56 lead with 11:58 left, and they still led by eight with 10:49 to go before ISU went on a 12-0 run to take a four-point lead. NAU tied the game, and at 81-81, ISU took a shot clock violation after Poole's desperation three was long. Aaron Bond, who led the 'Jack with 25, drained a three to give NAU the lead for good.

With NAU leading 88-84, the Lumberjacks missed a short jumper in the lane, and ISU had the chance to cut the lead to two with 34 seconds left, but Poole's driving layup rolled in and out, and NAU hit 4-of-6 free throws down the stretch for the win.

Poole's 33 was a career-high, as was Nate Rede's 16. Doug D'Amore and Jeff Gardner each had 11 and Scott Henry added 10.
