Bengals Get 64-59 Win at NAU, Sweep Road Trip

Flagstaff, AZ--Annie Anderson scored 21 points, tallying double figures for the third straight game and Molly Hays added 19 as Idaho State defeated Northern Arizona 64-59 in Flagstaff. The Bengals head back home with two road wins.

The Bengals improve their record to 11-5 overall, 3-1 in Big Sky play. Northern Arizona falls to 7-9, 1-3 in league play.

Anderson tallied 21 points in 31 minutes of play. She also added seven rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals in the effort. Anderson was 3-of-3 from the charity stripe. After taking a starting role three games ago, the senior center has averaged 20 points a contest.

Hays scored her 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting. She added eight rebounds and was a perfect 5-of-5 from the free throw line. Hays had an impressive road trip, scoring 42 points over the two-game span.

ISU's bench play continues to impress. The Bengal bench tallied 20 points against the Lumberjacks. Senior guard Merrilee Udy came off the bench to score nine points on 3-of-4 shooting. Junior Monika Marekova helped the ISU bench with seven points, while Heidi chipped in four.

The Bengals shot 40 percent from the field on 25-of-62 shots. ISU struggled from beyond the arc, shooting a season-low 10 percent from the three-point line. The Bengals won the battle of the boards 38-35.

Northern Arizona was led by Alyssa Wahl with 18 points on 5-of-15 shooting. NAU's Alexis Rhodes chipped in 14 in the loss.

Four teams in the Big Sky Conference sit with three wins on the season. Montana and Eastern Washington have 3-0 records, while Idaho State and Weber State sit a 3-1. Northern Arizona is 1-3 and Montana State and Portland State both have 0-3 records.

Idaho State returns home for two Big Sky games with Eastern Washington on Thursday, 7:05 p.m., and Portland State on Saturday, 2:05 p.m.
