Portland, OR--Despite 14 kills from Kylie Gilmore and 11 each from Nikki Randall and Ali Gorny, Idaho State dropped a 3-1 decision to Portland State Thursday night in Portland, Oregon. With the loss, Idaho State falls to 6-11 overall, 2-1 in Big Sky play. Portland State improves to 7-6 overall, 1-1 in league play.
After winning the first game 30-28, Idaho State dropped three straight, 30-22, 30-24, and 30-28.
Gilmore collected her team-high 14 kills on just five errors for an attack percentage of .243. Ali Gorny recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 11 kills and 10 digs. The double-double is her third straight.
Martha Brinton led the Bengals with 30 assists on the night, while Ashley VanderBloomen tallied a team-high 18 digs. Kamie Olsen recorded a game-high nine blocks.
Melissa Osterloh led the Vikings with a game-high 22 kills, while Jessica Brodie added 21 in the win.
The Bengals will continue Big Sky play Saturday night at Eastern Washington. The match will begin at 8 p.m. ISU returns home Oct. 15 to take on Northern Arizona.
