Cheney, WA--Despite outshooting it opponent 15-8, Idaho State soccer took a 1-0 loss Friday afternoon to Big Sky Conference foe Eastern Washington in Cheney. With the loss, Idaho State falls to 5-4-3 overall, 0-1-1 in the Big Sky. Eastern Washington improves to 4-7-2 overall, 1-0-1 in conference play.
The Bengals outshot Eastern Washington 15-8, but were unable to get a shot on goal. The Eagles made the most of their one shot on goal, scoring in the 36th minute to secure the win.
Jen Hamann put a shot into the left corner of the goal for the lone score of the contest. Chelse Zegzula assisted the goal.
ISU's Shannon Boyle played all 90 minutes in goal, tallying two saves in the effort. EWU keeper Tiera Como collected four saves on the day.
ISU's Ashlee Maughan led the Bengals with six shots and Natalie Graham added three in the loss.
The Bengals return home for a Sunday matchup with Montana at Davis Field. The game will begin at 1 p.m.
