Cheney, WA--Eastern Washington swept Idaho State 3-0 Saturday night in Cheney, Washington. The Eagles defeated ISU 32-30, 30-21, and 30-26.
With the loss, Idaho State falls to 6-12 overall, 2-2 in Big Sky Conference play. Eastern Washington improves to 7-5 overall, 3-0 in league play.
Nikki Randall and Felice Yocopis led the Bengals with 12 kills each. The two accounted for 25.5 of Idaho State's points in the match. Martha Brinton led ISU with a team-high 34 assists, while Ashley VanderBloomen had a team-high 16 digs.
As a team, Idaho State tallied 54 kills compared to Eastern Washington's 52. The Bengals recorded four team blocks to EWU's six. ISU tallied 23 attack errors to EWU's 10.
Keva Sonderen and Ashley Jensen fronted the Eagles with 11 kills each, while Megan Kitterman added 10 in the win.
The Bengals will continue road play with an Oct. 9 matchup at Weber State. ISU will return home for a meeting with Northern Arizona on Oct. 15.
