Bengal Soccer Ends Season with 1-0 Loss at NAU

Flagstaff, AZ--Idaho State's season came to an end Sunday afternoon with a 1-0 overtime loss to Northern Arizona in Flagstaff, Ariz. The loss pushes the Bengals out of post season play and gives Weber State the fourth and final position at the Big Sky Tournament.

With the loss, Idaho State finishes the season with a 7-6-3 overall record, 2-3-1 in Big Sky play. Northern Arizona improves to 5-11-2 overall, 2-4-0 in league play. Along with ISU, Northern Arizona fails to advance to the Big Sky Tournament.

The lone score of the contest came just four minutes into the first overtime when NAU's Karla Lee recorded her first goal of the season. The goal was assisted by Lisa Van Gorder.

A total of 22 fouls and three yellow cards were issued during the contest. NAU's Dani Davis was issued a yellow card in the 33rd minute when she collided with ISU keeper Shannon Boyle. Boyle was unable to return from the collision and freshman Maren Eves took over goalie duties for the Bengals for the rest of the contest.

Boyle finished with one save and no goals allowed in 33 minutes. Eves' collected five saves with one goal allowed in 62 minutes.

After being out-shot 1-3 in the first half, Idaho State battled back to out-shoot the Lumberjacks 10-9 on the game. ISU was out-shot 2-0 in the overtime period. The Bengals had four shots on goal compared to NAU's seven.

Jessie Bobert led the Bengals with five shots, three on goal. Natalie Graham helped with two shots on the day.

The Bengals end the season without advancing to Big Sky Tournament play for the first time since 1999.
