ISU Volleyball Wraps up Regular Season with 3-1 Road Win at Northern Arizona

Flagstaff, AZ---Ali Gorny recorded a double-double with 18 kills and 19 digs and Felice Yocopis added a double-double of her own with 11 kills and 11 digs as Idaho State closed out regular season play with a 3-1 victory over Northern Arizona Saturday night in Flagstaff.

After falling 24-30 in the first game, Idaho State rallied to pick up three straight, 30-20, 30-25, and 30-19. With the win, Idaho State improves to 12-16 overall. The Bengals wrap up regular season play with an 8-6 record.

"We showed up tonight," said ISU head coach Mike Welch. "We played composed and played well as a team. It was a complete team effort tonight,"

Gorny tallied her game-high 18 kills with an attack percentage of .205. Gorny also recorded three blocks in the effort. Yocopis tallied just four errors for a hitting percentage of .212. Lisa Bushman led the Bengals with 27 assists, while Kamie Olsen fronted the squad with seven blocks.

Ashley VanderBloomen recorded 16 digs on the night. The sophomore libero now has 458 digs on the season. She needs just eight more digs to break ISU's 19-year old single-season digs record.

As a team, Idaho State tallied 54 kills compared to NAU's 48. The Bengals held the Lumberjacks to an attack percentage of .0.27. The Bengals recorded 11 team blocks to NAU's six.

"I thought we did a great job on the block tonight," Welch said. "I was proud of the way our team came together. We're excited about this win. It's hard to win at a place like Northern Arizona. It was a great road win for us that will give us some great momentum heading into the Big Sky Tournament."

Up next for the Bengals will be the Big Sky Tournament in Cheney, Washington Nov. 18-20.
