Box Score

Eugene, OR--After leading 31-23 at the half, Idaho State was outscored 56-25 in the second as the Bengals fell 79-56 Thursday night to Oregon at McArthur Court in Eugene. The loss drops ISU to 3-5 overall on the season, while Oregon improves to a perfect 6-0.

Led by the play of freshman center Natalie Doma, Idaho State got off to a quick start, connecting on 41 percent of its shots in the first half. Doma had 10 points and eight rebounds at the half, while India Soo helped with five points and six rebounds to help ISU to the 31-21 halftime lead.

"We got the job done in the first half," said ISU head coach Jon Newlee. "We did a good job of getting the ball down inside. We played great defense, contesting every shot they took and getting back quick on transition defense."

The Ducks started the second half on a 14-3 run and never looked back as they hit 61 percent of their shots to secure the victory. Oregon's Brandi Davis scored all 14 of her points in the second half, connecting on 5-of-9 field goals, 3-of-5 threes.

"They shot the lights out in the second half," Newlee said. "We didn't identify (Brandi) Davis and get on her like we should have. They hit a lot of threes, and we couldn't recover."

Doma led the Bengals with a 19-point, 12-rebound, double-double effort. Doma hit 9-of-18 shots from the field. She also tallied two blocks, two steals, and an assist. Andrea Sivakova came off the bench to help with 11 points, including two long-range three point buckets in the first half.

As a team, Idaho State committed 17 turnovers, which Oregon turned into 14 points. ISU collected 37 rebounds to Oregon's 46.

"This was a great opportunity for us tonight," Newlee said. "It was good to get this kind of experience against a tall, strong team that plays at such a high level. It will help prepare us for the Big Sky Conference games."

The Bengals will have eight days off before hosting St. Martins in a 2:05 p.m. afternoon matchup on Dec. 18 at Reed Gym.
