Pocatello, ID-The Idaho State women's tennis team grabbed a 4-3 win over league foe Montana Saturday morning at Reed Gym. The Bengals improve their record to 7-8 overall, 2-2 in Big Sky play.
The Bengals swept three doubles matches and won three of the six singles contests to pick up the 4-3 win.
Hayli Scott and Melissa Bessman teamed up to defeat Annabelle Janairo and Michaela Zima 8-4 at first doubles, while Melanie Kranz and Armine Sarkavagyan defeated UM's Lindsey Torgerson and Jonna Schwartz 8-5 at second doubles. Denise Cockrell and Katherine Zigars got the victory at third doubles, 8-3 against Colby Fannin and Bonny Bower.
ISU's Bessman defeated Torgerson 6-4, 6-3 at third singles. Scott picked up her ninth singles win of the season, defeating Malena Rosen, 6-0, 6-3. Zigars won 6-3, 6-0 at sixth singles against Fannin.
The Bengals travel to Logan, Utah for a matchup with Utah State on Tuesday.
