Pocatello, ID-The Idaho State men's tennis squad defeated Big Sky rival Montana 4-3 Saturday afternoon at Reed Gym. The Bengals swept the double's matches and won three of the six single's contests.
The Bengals up their record to 8-6 overall, 3-1 in Big Sky play.
Idaho State's Hestian Stoica and Ioannis Stavridis teamed to defeat Gus Treyz and Stuart Wing 8-2. Ivan Moferdin and Jemre Okoh got past Ryan O'Niel and Varun Giri 8-6 at second doubles, and Pablo Garces and Marc Pijoan snagged an 8-3 victory at third doubles over Jan Steenekamp and Sean Stewart.
Pijoan also grabbed a win at fourth singles, defeating Treyz 6-0, 6-1. Garces won 6-1, 6-1 at fifth singles over Stewart, while Okoh picked up the victory at sixth singles, 6-2, 6-3 over Nick Tyree.
ISU now heads to Logan, Utah for a Tuesday matchup with Utah State.
