Ogden, UT-The Idaho State women's tennis team fell 5-2 to Weber State Tuesday afternoon in Ogden, Utah. With the loss, Idaho State falls to 7-10 overall, 2-3 in Big Sky play. Weber State improves to 11-11 overall, 4-2 in league play.
The Wildcats swept the doubles matches to pick up the first point of the match. Weber then won four of the six singles contests to claim the victory.
Armine Sarkavagyan and Melissa Bessman were the lone Bengals to record wins. Sarkavagyan defeated WSU's Maria Bublik, 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 at first singles. Bessman got past Elana Smit at third singles in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.
ISU now travels to California for a Saturday matchup with Big Sky foe Sacramento State. The match will be the final regular season contest for the Bengals. The Big Sky Conference tennis championships will take place April 29-May 2 in Ogden, Utah.
