ISU Women Even Big Sky Record with 82-74 Win at Portland State

Pocatello, ID--Christa Brossman and Molly Hays each scored 21 points and Camile Michaelson added 19 as Idaho State picked up its first road win of the season--an 82-74 victory at Portland State. With the win, ISU improves to 7-10 overall, 2-2 in Big Sky play.

Portland State falls to 2-13 overall and 0-3 in league play.

After leading by 12 at the half, 45-33, Portland State rallied in the second half to cut the lead to two points after Ashley Brown hit a jumper with one minute remaining in the game.. ISU responded with a 6-0 run to close the game and pick up the 82-74 victory.

Brossman recorded her 21 points on 7-of-14 shots from the field, 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. Brossman also picked up three steals and seven rebounds in the win. Hays netted her 21 points on 5-of-9 shots from the field. Hays also connected on 2-of-3 shots from the trey and 9-of-10 from the charity stripe.

Michaelson connected on 5-of-11 shots from the field, 4-of-6 from beyond the arc, and 5-of-7 from the free throw line to pick up her 19 points.

As a team, ISU shot 47 percent from the floor and an impressive 50 percent from three-point range, connecting on 10-of-20 shots from outside the arc. The Bengals also hit 24-of-28 shots from the charity stripe for 85 percent.

Heather Arns led the Vikings with a game-high 25 points. PSU hit 44 percent of its shots from the field.

Idaho State returns home for a Saturday afternoon matchup with cross-state rival Weber State. The game will begin at 2:05 p.m. prior to the Idaho State-Weber State men's game, which will tip-off at 7:05 p.m. at Reed Gym.
