Portland, OR--Idaho State's road woes continued Saturday afternoon with a 3-1 loss to Portland State at the Stott Center in Portland. Nikki Havens led the ISU effort with match-high 24 kills.
After dropping game one 24-30, Idaho State battled back to take game two 30-26. The Bengals then dropped two straight, 22-30 and 23-30 to take the loss. ISU now drops to 8-15 overall, 2-7 in Big Sky play. Portland State improves to 16-5 overall, 6-2 in league play.
Havens tallied her match-high 24 kills with just six errors on 48 attacks for a hitting percentage of .375. The junior outside hitter also collected 12 digs for her 10th double-double of the season. The 24 kill effort marks the sixth time this season that Havens has notched 20 or more kills in a match.
Felice Yocopis tallied her league-best 18th double-double of the season with 13 kills and 12 digs, while Lisa Bushman recorded her fourth double-double effort of the season with a team-high 27 assists and 13 digs.
Zoe Beltz matched a career high with 11 digs. Other notable double-digit performers included Amanda Bevens with 21 assists and Katie Hurst with 12 digs.
As a team, Idaho State connected on 60 kills with 28 errors for a .180 attack percentage. The Vikings notched 74 kills on 23 errors for a .291 percentage.
Idaho State will continue road play on Oct. 29 when the team travels to face cross-state rival Weber State in Ogden. ISU's next home match will be Nov. 4 against Sacramento State.
