Flagstaff, AZ--Playing for the first time this season without senior leader Felice Yocopis, Idaho State dropped a 3-0 decision to Big Sky foe Northern Arizona Thursday night at the Rolle Activity Center.

"It was a hard night for us," said ISU head coach Mike Welch. "It was tough playing without Felice and Zoe Beltz. "We asked a lot of our players to play a lot of different roles, and it was difficult for us. We are a much better team than we showed tonight."

The Bengals fell in straight games, 27-30, 26-30, and 27-30. The loss drops the Bengals to 8-10 overall, 2-2 in Big Sky play. The Lumberjacks improve to 3-11 overall, 2-3 in league play.

Nikki Havens led ISU with an 11-kill, nine-dig, near double-double effort. The junior outside hitter collected her 11 kills with five errors for a .167 hitting percentage. Karli Maughan helped with 10 kills and four digs.

Lisa Bushman led the Bengals with a team-high 18 assists, while freshman Amanda Bevens added 15 assists. Paige Palmer led ISU with a team-high 13 digs.

As a team, Idaho State tallied 43 kills while hitting .172. The team also collected seven blocks.

Kailee Savage led the Lumberjacks with a match-high 14 kills with 11 digs. NAU connected on 54 kills and eight blocks.

"We'll move on from this loss and get ready for Sacramento State," Welch said. "We should have Zoe back, which will help, and our team will be ready to play."

Idaho State continues conference road play against Sacramento State on Saturday. The Bengals return home on Oct. 14 to face Montana.
