Box Score

Ogden, UT--Idaho State shot just 28 percent from the field on 16-of-56 shooting as Weber State handed the Bengals a 59-37 loss Thursday night at the Dee Events Center in Ogden, Utah. The 37 points is a season-low for ISU.

With the loss, Idaho State falls to 11-14 overall, 6-6 in Big Sky play. WSU improves to 19-6 overall, 10-2 in league play.

"We were physically man-handled tonight," said ISU head coach Jon Newlee. "This game reminded me of the Boise State game this season. We played soft and came out with no intensity tonight. We were flat and despite all that, we were actually still in the game at halftime."

The Bengals went into the half trailing 33-19, and cut the lead to just 10 points, 38-28, with 11 minutes remaining in the contest, but were unable to get any closer as the Wildcats out-scored ISU 19-9 through the remainder of the game to pick up the win.

Christa Brossman led the Bengals with 15 points on 6-of-16 shooting, 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. The senior guard also tallied four rebounds and a steal in the effort. Freshman Natalie Doma was the only other Bengal to reach double figures with 10 points. She was just one rebound shy of a double-double with nine.

"I thought Natalie (Doma) did a good job off the bench for us in the first half, and that's why we started her in the second," Newlee said. "We were just flat tonight and were missing a lot of easy baskets underneath the basket."

The Bengals shot 30 percent from the floor in the first half, 26 percent in the second. ISU connected on just 15 percent of its shots from beyond the arc on 3-of-19 shooting, and hit 2-of-5 shots from the charity stripe.

Julie Gjertsen and Becky O'Neil each scored 17 points for the Wildcats. Chelsey Warburton was also in double figures with 10 points.

WSU outrebounded Idaho State 44-34. The Wildcats scored 14 second chance points.

The Bengals will wrap up regular season play in Montana next week with stops at Montana and Montana State next Thursday and Saturday respectively. The site of the Big Sky Conference Tournament is still undecided. Both Montana (10-1) and Weber State (10-2) are battling for the rights to host.
