Pocatello, ID--The Idaho State women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision to Big Sky Conference foe Eastern Washington Friday afternoon at the ISU Tennis Courts at Reed Gym.
The Bengals dropped two of the three doubles contests to fall behind 1-0. Eastern Washington then won three of the six singles matches to secure the 4-3 victory.
Denise Cockrell picked up a win at No. 1 singles for ISU, defeating Sayaka Yoshimoto 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. Armine Sarkavagyan won at No. 2 singles with a 4-6, 7-6, 6-4 win over Kasey Knox, while Valerie Espinosa won at No. 3 singles with a three set win over EWU's Jennifer Jolley.
Next up for ISU will be an April 13 home matchup with cross-state foe Weber State.
