Pocatello, ID -- Former Idaho State Bengal Steve Burch has been offered a contract with the Ottawa Renegades football team. The new Canadian Football League player agreed to a one-year contract plus a one year option to play the position of tackle.
Burch was a four-year letterwinner who started 39 games as a Bengal, mostly at left tackle. Burch joins former Bengals Emery Beckles and Kennedy Nkeyasen, who both are defensive backs for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Contract details were not disclosed in keeping with policies at Hometown Sports Management. However, Agent Chris Gittings said "We were able to negotiate a nice contract for Steve. We're very happy with the way this contract is structured."
"Steve is a great player and will do great things in the CFL," said Gittings. "Dan and I are excited about his opportunity to play professional football and take his football career to a new level."
Burch reports to training camp in Ottawa on May 27th. Their first preseason game is June 9th in Montreal versus the Montreal Alouettes. He is originally from Oakley, ID.
