Greeley, CO--Idaho State dropped its first of two road matches this week, falling 3-0 (16-30, 24-30, 16-30) to Northern Colorado Thursday night at the Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion in Greeley, Colorado.
With the loss, Idaho State falls to 8-14 overall, 4-5 in Big Sky play. Northern Colorado improves to 9-9 overall, 6-3 in league action.
Emily Waldron and Karli Maughan led the Bengal attack with eight kills each. Waldron added seven digs and a block in the effort. Jessica Gurney helped with seven kills, while Zoe Beltz added six. Beltz connected on her six kills on 16 attacks with only one error for a team-best .312 hitting mark on the night.
Christine Collette set up the Bengals with a team-high 20 assists. Amanda Bevens split time with Collette at the setter position, adding 11 assists. Bri Beal led the ISU defense with a match-high 19 digs.
As a team, ISU connected on a 35 kills while hitting .056. Northern Colorado was impressive at the net, registering 51 kills on a .348 attack clip.
Meredith Alder led Northern Colorado with 11 kills and Dulcie Stone added 10.
ISU continues road play at Northern Arizona on Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. The Bengals next return home for an Oct. 20 matchup with Montana.
