Flagstaff, AZ--Idaho State got off to a good start by winning the first game of the match but then dropped the next three to drop a 3-1 (30-23, 17-30, 25-30, 19-30) decision to Northern Arizona Saturday night at the J.C. Rolle Activity Center.
With the loss, Idaho State falls to 8-15 overall, 4-6 in Big Sky Conference play. The Lumberjacks improve to 7-12 overall, 3-6 in league play.
Senior Nikki Havens led Idaho State with a team-high 15 kills while freshman Emily Waldron helped with 10. Havens collected her 15 kills on 33 attacks with only six errors for a .273 hitting mark. Waldron recorded her 10 kills on 30 attacks with just one error for an impressive .300 attack percentage.
Christine Collette led the Bengal offense with a team-high 34 assists added to 12 digs for a double-double. Bri Beal also added 12 digs for ISU and Katie Hurst helped with 11.
As a team, Idaho State tallied 47 kills with a .122 hitting mark while Northern Arizona totaled 71 kills while hitting .300 at the net. ISU collected 48 digs to Northern Arizona's 64.
Kim Babcock led Northern Arizona with a match-high 26 kills.
Idaho State now returns to Pocatello for its final conference homestand of the season. The Bengals will host Montana on Oct. 20 before welcoming Montana State on Oct. 21. Both matches are slated for 7 p.m.
