Cheney, WA--Four Eagles reached double digit kills as Eastern Washington defeated Idaho State 3-1 (16-30, 30-25, 22-30, 25-30) in Big Sky Conference action Thursday night at Reese Court.
After falling behind 1-0, Idaho State battled back to even up the score at 1-1. Eastern Washington then won game three and then took a come from behind victory in game four to secure the match.
Idaho State falls to 9-17 overall, 5-8 in Big Sky play. The Eagles have now won seven straight matches and improve to 14-7 overall, 6-5 in conference play.
Nikki Havens led the Bengals with 16 kills on 36 attacks with only two errors. The senior outside hitter finished the match with a .389 hitting percentage. Emily Waldron also reached double digit kills, tallying 13 kills on 52 attacks with four errors. Waldron also collected 12 digs for the double-double.
Christine Collette set up the Bengal offense with 32 assists and added 12 digs for her team-leading ninth double-double of the season. Bri Beal helped the defense effort with 12 digs.
Idaho State registered 52 kills on the night to Eastern Washington's 73. The Bengals recorded a .174 hitting mark while the Eagles connected on a .296 percentage.
Idaho State continues road play at Portland State on Oct. 28. Opening serve is set for 2 p.m.
