Portland, OR--Emily Waldron was the only Bengal to reach double digit kills with 11 as Idaho State dropped a 3-0 (25-30, 23-30, 17-30) decision to Portland State Saturday afternoon at the Stott Center.
The loss drops Idaho State to 9-18 overall, 5-9 in Big Sky play. The Vikings improve to 15-6 overall, 10-2 in league play.
Waldron recorded her 11 kills on 32 attacks with just four errors. The freshman outside hitter connected on a .219 hitting mark on the day, and added eight digs. Seniors Nikki Havens and Karli Maughan each added eight kills in the effort. Havens registered a .294 attack mark on the day with just three errors on 17 attacks.
Amanda Bevens led the setting duties with 23 assists. Katie Hurst and Bri Beal led the defensive effort for the Bengals with eight digs each.
Idaho State recorded a .082 attack mark with 33 kills on 110 attacks with 24 errors. Portland State connected on a .248 hitting clip with 45 kills on 105 attempts and 19 errors.
Lindsey Steele led PSU with 11 kills, while Jessica Frederick added 10.
Idaho State will continue road play next week when the team travels to face Weber State on Nov. 2 and Sacramento State on Nov. 4. The Bengals will wrap up regular season play at home against Utah State on Nov. 7.
