Pocatello, ID--Jennifer Loo sent a free kick into the box and Chantal Kim took advantage, heading the ball into the back of the net to give Idaho State a 1-0 overtime win over Sacramento State Saturday in front of a recorded-breaking 1,540 fans at Davis Field.

With the win, Idaho State improves to 5-7-0 overall, 1-1-0 in Big Sky Conference play. The Hornets fall to 7-6-1 overall and fall to 1-1-0 in the league.

"Our team just amazes me," said ISU head coach Allison Gibson. "It was truly an inspiring effort that they gave out there today. We've continue to believe in ourselves, and it paid off for us today. We knew the tide would finally turn and it did today. This was a big test for us and we proved a lot out there."

Kim's goal came in the sixth minute of the first overtime period. Loo sent in a ball from just inside midfield. Loo's ball floated right into the box where Kim was able to free herself from a defender and headed in for her third score of the season. The assist is Loo's first of the year.

"Jenn just put a great ball into the box for me and I slid in front of my defender and flicked it to the right side," Kim said. "I then got mobbed by my teammates. It was a great feeling."

Kim and Natalie Graham led the Bengal attack with four shots each. Chelsea Cox, Michelle Okumura, and Loo each added two, while three others had one.

"Before the game Chantal told me that she felt like she was going to have a good game and she was right," Gibson said. "I love the confidence that our team plays with. As a coaching staff, we know that this team is capable of amazing things. We've been a little unlucky at times this season and we knew that it was bound to turn in our favor. I'm so proud of our team."

Defensively, Lyndsay Gensler was impressive, collecting four saves in her second shutout of the season.

For a second-straight game, Idaho State out-shot its opponent and dominated the offensive time of possession game. The Bengals owned a 17-9 shot advantage and a 5-4 shots on goal advantage. ISU had eight corner kicks to Sacramento State's three.

Idaho State now heads out on the road for three straight, beginning with Northern Arizona on Oct. 13. The team next returns home on Oct. 22 when it will host Eastern Washington.
