Sacramento, CA--Idaho State dropped three straight games to take a 3-0 (15-30, 17-30, 22-30) loss to league leader Sacramento State Saturday night in the team's final Big Sky Conference regular season match of the season. Nikki Havens led the Bengals with nine kills in the effort.
With the loss, Idaho State falls to 9-20 overall, 5-11 in Big Sky play. Sacramento State improves to 26-5 on the season, 13-1 in league play.
Havens recorded her nine kills on 29 attacks with six errors for a .103 hitting mark. She also picked up a pair of assists. Karlie Maughan helped with five kills, while Jessica Gurney, Katie Hurst, and Ashlyn McDowell helped with four.
Christine Collette led the Bengals with 22 assists with 13 digs for the double-double. Bri Beal led the ISU defense with 18 digs. Beal now has 471 digs this season and is just six shy of the all-time single season record. The senior libero will likely break that record against Utah State on Tuesday.
As at team, Idaho State connected on 29 kills on 123 attacks while hitting .049. The Hornets registered 48 kills on 128 attacks with a .258 hitting mark.
Idaho State now returns home to wrap up regular season play. The Bengals will step out of Big Sky play to host Utah State on Nov. 7 at 6 p.m.
