Sweet Victory for ISU Men's Tennis

Pocatello, ID- The Idaho State men's tennis team defeats Weber State 4-3 Tuesday afternoon on Valentine's Day at Reed Gym. This sweet victory improves the Bengals record to 6-2 while Weber State falls to 1-7.

Idaho State took two of the three victories in the doubles matches leading them 1-0 early in the match. Alex Danilkovich and Pablo Garces earned an easy victory against Mathis Saberon and Quinn Allred 8-2 at the No. 2 doubles spot. Masimba Ruwo and Ryo Sakamoto defeated Zach Rideout and Chris Williams 8-6 at the No. 3 doubles spot.

The Bengals fought tough to win three of the six singles matches. Danilkovich and Ruwo won both their doubles and singles matches. Marc Pijoan defeated Fabio Mancarella 7-6, 5-7, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. Danilkovich went to a three set match to defeat Mathis Saberon 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 at the No. 3 singles spot. Ruwo fought tough to beat Zach Rideout 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (3) at the No. 4 spot.

The Bengals next match will occur on February 27 in Salt Lake City, Utah against Utah at 5 p.m.
