UNLV Men's Tennis Shuts Down Idaho State 7-0

Las Vegas, NV--The 60th-ranked UNLV Men's Tennis team shutout Idaho State 7-0 Friday afternoon at the Fertitta Tennis Complex. The Bengals fall to 2-1 overall on the season while UNLV improves to 2-1.

The Rebels improved to 2-1 while the Bengals suffered their first loss in three matches this season.

UNLV began the afternoon by sweeping three doubles matches for one team point. The Rebels lost only a single set in singles play to Masimba Ruwo.

Senior Joel Kielbowicz defeated Marc Pijoan 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1. Romain Massaro beat Pablo Garces 6-0, 6-3 at No. 2, Brett Hunter swept Alex Danilkovich 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3. Freshman Elliot Wronski won the super-ten tiebreaker to earn the match against Masimba Ruwo 6-7, 6-3, 1-0 (10-1) at No. 4. Jonathan Hooper and Wesley Burrows also scored for the Rebels.

The Bengals next match will occur Feb. 4 in Las Vegas against Weber State.
