Sacramento, CA--The Idaho State men's tennis was defeated by Sacramento State 5-2 Sunday afternoon. After winning two of the three doubles matches, Idaho State's men's tennis team dropped five of the six singles matches. The Bengals record falls to 6-4 while Sac State improves to 7-5. Pablo Garces was the only Bengal to win both his doubles and his singles match.
Garces and Alex Danilkovich defeated Foy and Perez 8-3 at No. 2 doubles. Garces and Danilkovich have an impressive doubles record of 6-3. Masimba Ruwo and Ryo Sakamoto were awarded their match by default, giving the Bengals a 1-0 lead early in the match.
The Bengals lost five of the six singles matches to take the 5-2 loss. Garces was the only Bengal to gain a singles victory defeating Warwick Foy in a tight three set match 6-3, 1-6, 6-1 at the No. 3 spot.
The Bengals next match will occur March 25 in Provo Utah against BYU.
