Pocatello, ID--The Idaho State men's tennis team defeats Montana 5-2 Monday afternoon at ISU's Reed Gym. ISU improves their Big Sky Conference record to 2-1, while leveling out their record for the season to 8-8. Montana's record falls to 4-8 for the season.
The Bengals dropped two of the three doubles contests to fall behind 1-0. Marc Pijoan and Alan Mohadeb defeated Colin Dektar and Josh Katz 8-6 at No.1 doubles. ISU then won five of the six singles matches to secure the 5-2 victory.
Alex Danilkovich picked up a win at No. 2 singles against Stuart Wing 6-1, 6-3. Pablo Garces won in three sets against Felipe Raw 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-0 at No. 3 singles. Masimba Ruwo won at No. 4 singles against Dektar 7-5, 6-4. Mohadeb defeated Brady Tommerup in three sets 1-6, 6-1, 7-5 at No. 4 singles, while Ryo Sakamoto won the deciding match against Tim Neidhardt 6-2, 6-4 at No. 6 singles.
