Logan, Utah--The Idaho State men's tennis team defeated Utah State 4-3 in Logan Utah, Monday afternoon. ISU won four of the six singles matches. The Bengals record is 9-11 for the season.
The Bengals lost two of the three doubles dropping them 1-0 early in the match. Alex Danilkovich and Alan Mohadeb defeated Dantley Young and Jonas Tyden 8-4 at No. 2 doubles.
The Bengals fought back in singles to win four of the six singles matches to take the 4-3 victory. Marc Pijoan dominated Johannes Zelle 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 singles. Danilkovich also won at No. 2 singles against Joao Pinho 7-6, 6-1. Pablo Garces defeated Young 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 at No. 3 singles. Masimba Ruwo gained a victory for the Bengals at No. 4 singles defeating Bryan Marchant in three sets, 1-6, 6-1, 6-1.
Idaho State will be hosting the Big Sky Conference Tournament from April 27-29 in Pocatello, Idaho.
