Davis, CA--UC Davis forward Dayna Dumont scored a game-winning goal in the 25th minute as the Aggies defeated Idaho State 1-0 Sunday afternoon at the Aggie Soccer Stadium in Davis, California.
The loss drops Idaho State to 3-4-0 overall, while UC Davis improves to 3-1-0 with the win.
Dumont put in the games only goal in the 25th minute after receiving a Britnee Warmerdam pass from the right flank and into the penalty box. The score is Dumont's second goal of the season.
Chantal Kim and Chelsea Cox led the Bengals with two shots on the day. The pair also each recorded a shot on goal. Kilee Quigley was the only other Bengal to register a shot on goal.
The Aggies out-shot ISU 25-7 on the day, including a 10-3 advantage on goal. Lyndsay Gensler recorded a game-high nine saves on the day in 90 minutes played. UC Davis also won the corner kick battle 7-3.
Idaho State will now have a week off before resuming play at Davis Field on Sept. 22 against nationally-ranked Utah. Kick-off for that game is scheduled for 4 p.m.
