Second Half Goal Gives Wyoming 1-0 Win over Idaho State

Laramie, WY--Idaho State dropped a 1-0 decision to Wyoming Sunday at UW Soccer Stadium in Laramie, marking the fifth time this season that the Bengals have lost a game by just a single goal.

Idaho State falls to 3-6-0 with the loss, while Wyoming ups its record to 4-4-1 on the season.

After a scoreless first period, Wyoming broke the 0-0 tie with a strike in the 61st minute. UW goalkeeper Ashley Sheppard sent a punt to a streaking Christine Nagel, who put the ball into the back of the net.

Natalie Graham led Idaho State with five shots, marking the second time this season that the junior forward has registered five shots in a single game. Graham also led the team with two shots on goal. Jennifer Loo recorded four shots, while Michelle Okumura added three and Kilee Quigley two.

Lyndsay Gensler led the ISU defense with seven saves on the day--the most by a Bengal keeper this season.

Wyoming narrowly won the shots battle with 18 to ISU's 17. The Cowgirls had eight shots on goal to Idaho State's four. The Bengals did out-shoot Wyoming 12-7 in the first period.

Idaho State will continue road play at Utah Valley State (4-5-1) on Sept. 30 before returning home to open Big Sky Conference play on Oct 5 against Portland State (0-7-1).
