Pocatello, ID--Four different players registered double-digit kill efforts as Idaho State bounced back from a Thursday night loss to defeat Weber State 3-0 (27-30, 30-25, 30-18, 30-24) Friday night at Reed Gym.
After dropping 30-27 decision in game one, Idaho State rebounded to win three straight to secure the win over Weber State. ISU improves to 7-11 overall and evens its Big Sky Conference record to 3-3. The loss is Weber's 10th straight and drops the Wildcats to 3-16 overall, 0-5 in league play.
"We didn't get it going offensively in the first game, but we changed some things and recovered to win the next three," said ISU head coach Mike Welch. "I thought our serving was key tonight. In games two through four we did a good job of keeping Weber State off balance."
Nikki Havens led the Bengals with a match-high 18 kills on 40 attempts with just three errors. The senior outside hitter recorded a .375 attack percentage. Jessica Gurney and Karli Maughan helped the ISU effort with 11 kills each, while Katie Hurst added 10.
Christine Collette set up the Bengal offense, collecting a match-high 43 assists. She also had 14 digs to record her team-best fifth double-double of the season.
Bri Beal fronted the defensive effort for ISU, recording a match-high 29 digs. Emily Waldron also helped defensively with 17 digs. Hurst added a double-double with 10 digs.
As a team, Idaho State collected 63 kills on 192 attacks with 30 errors for a .172 clip. The Bengals held Weber State to 51 kills on 186 attacks and 32 errors for a .102 attack mark. The Bengals tallied 93 digs to WSU's 77, and each team had 10 blocks on the match.
Idaho State will play its third of five straight home matches on Oct. 3 when the team hosts nationally-ranked Utah at 6 p.m.
