Idaho State Completes Road Sweep, Defeats Northern Colorado 92-66

Greeley, CO - Natalie Doma recorded her ninth double-double of the season with a game-high 26 points and 17 rebounds as Idaho State completed a road sweep, defeating Northern Colorado 92-66 Saturday night at the Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion. The game marked the first-ever Big Sky Conference game at home for UNC.

The Bengals improve to 6-8 overall, 2-0 in Big Sky play, while Northern Colorado falls to 3-13 overall and 0-4 in league play.

After taking a 30-16 lead with 8:12 remaining in the first half, Idaho State saw its lead diminish to just six points, 41-35 at the half. The Bengals then took control of the second half, outscoring Northern Colorado 51-31 to secure the 92-66 victory.

"We were a little out of sync in the first half," said ISU head coach Jon Newlee. "We changed up our defense and started to play our game in the second half. We got into a good rhythm and things started going our way in the second half."

Doma's 26 points marks the eighth time this season that the junior center has put in 20 or more points, while the 17 rebounds marks the ninth time this season that she has pulled down 10 or more rebounds in a single game. Doma connected on 10-of-17 shots from the field, including a perfect 6-of-6 mark at the free throw line.

Andrea Lightfoot helped with 20 points with six rebounds and three assists. Jeni Boesel contributed 15 points, along with three assists, four rebounds, and two blocks. Devin Diehl also reached double digits with a 10-point effort.

Idaho State connected on nine three-point field goals in the game. Kaylynn Fager, Diehl, and Boesel each connected on two shots from long range.

As a team, Idaho State recorded a 47 percent clip from the field and connected on 21-of-25 free throws (84 percent). ISU held Northern Colorado to a 30.8 percent mark from the field and a 16.7 clip from long range (5-of-30).

Heather Barbour led UNC with 23 points, while Whitley Cox and Tina Fox each tallied 14.

Idaho State now returns home to host Montana (15-1, 3-0) on Jan. 18 before welcoming Montana State (6-9, 1-2). Tip-off for Thursday's game against Montana is set for 7:05 p.m.
