Greeley, CO- Blakely Peppinger set a career high with 28 assists and Emily Waldron matched a season high with 16 kills in a losing effort as Idaho State loses at Northern Colorado 3-1 (23-30, 26-30, 30-26, 21-30) Saturday night.
The Bears took the first two games before the Bengals won the third game. Northern Colorado took the fourth game for the match. Idaho State drops to 0-6 in the Big Sky, 3-14 overall. Northern Colorado is 5-14 overall and 3-4 in the Big Sky.
Waldron also came up with 11 digs for her 7th double-double of the season. That matches Christine Van Orden for the Bengal lead in double-doubles in 2007. Waldron led Idaho State with 47 total attacks and hit .213.
Peppinger shared setting duties with Van Orden as Christine came up with 15 assists and Blakely got her 28. Senior Katie Edgson led the defensive effort with 26 digs.
Charlee Kinghorn was a dig shy of another double-double. She logged 11 kills and 9 digs.
The Idaho State Bengals will now get to sleep in their own bed for a while with the next five matches coming at home. Next week they will host Montana on Friday and Montana State on Saturday. Both matches set to start at 7 pm.
