Pocatello, ID--Idaho State is mathematically eliminated from the Big Sky Tournament with a 3-0 (24-30, 29-31, 28-30) loss to Northern Colorado Thursday night at Reed Gym. The loss is the Bengals' sixth straight and drops them to 1-12 in the Big Sky and 5-21 overall. The Bears improved their tournament hopes by slipping up to 7-7 in conference and 9-18 overall.
Katie Edgson recorded a team high 19 digs. She passed Kadie Leonhardt for 10th on ISU's career digs list. Edgson now has 988 and can become the 10th Bengal to reach the 1,000 career digs mark with just 12 more digs with three matches to play in her Idaho State career.
Charlee Kinghorn led the Bengals with 10 kills. She also picked up 13 digs for her 8th double-double of the season. Emily Waldron very nearly got another one with 9 kills and 13 digs. Kolay Mickelsen was effective hitting .412 and smacking 9 kills. She also rose up for a career high 4 blocks.
Northern Colorado was led by Allison Raguse who had 15 kills and Abby Mayne who had 23 digs.
Idaho State will finish off the home portion of their schedule on Saturday when they host Northern Arizona at 7:00 pm. It will be senior night and Idaho State's only senior Katie Edgson could reach the 1,000 career digs mark in that match as well.
