Bengals Fall 70-62 at Northern Arizona

Flagstaff, AZ--Despite a career-high 25 points from Jeni Boesel, Idaho State dropped its second-straight game, falling 70-62 to Northern Arizona Thursday night at the Walkup Skydome.

The loss drops the Bengals to 7-12 overall, 3-4 in Big Sky play. Northern Arizona improves to 14-8 overall, 7-2 in league action.

After trailing 33-27 at halftime, Idaho State rallied in the second half to tie the game for the first time at 54-54 with 7:28 to play. NAU then used a 9-2 run to go up 63-56 and never relinquished the lead to secure the victory.

Boesel scored her career-high 25 points on 11-of-16 shooting, including a pair of threes. The senior guard scored 21 of her 25 points in the second half. Devin Diehl and Natalie Doma also reached double digits with 10 points each. Doma also recorded 10 rebounds for her 14th double-double of the season.

Idaho State was impressive from the floor, connecting on 48.1 percent (26-of-54) of its shots from the floor and 46.7 percent from beyond the arc (7-of-15).

The Bengals were outrebounded 47-25, including a 20-5 advantage on the offensive boards.

Four NAU players reached double digit scoring, lead by Megan Porter who scored 18.

Idaho State continues play at Sacramento State on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 2:05 p.m. (MT). ISU returns home on Feb. 8 to host Northern Colorado.
