Idaho State Drops Pair of Games to 12th-Ranked Oregon

Eugene, OR--Idaho State dropped both ends of a double header to 12th-ranked Oregon Saturday afternoon at Howe Field, falling 10-0 in game one before taking an 8-0 loss in game two. The Ducks held the Bengals to just one hit over the two games.

The two losses drop Idaho State to 4-24 overall this season while Oregon improves to 32-3. The Ducks remain undefeated at home with an 8-0 record. Oregon has now won 11 straight.

In game one, Idaho State fell behind early, giving up three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Oregon then scored seven runs in the third inning to secure the victory in five innings.

Oregon's Alicia Cook (17-1) pitched the perfect game, retiring all 15 of ISU's batters. She did not allow a Bengal to reach a single base in the effort. Lindsay Boughton pitched all four innings for ISU.

OU shortstop Jenn Salling hit a walk off homer in the bottom of the fifth inning to end the second game early. Oregon scored two runs in the first inning and three each in both the third and fifth innings to get the win.

Idaho State reached base one time in the game after shortstop Amanda Stachowsky connected on a single.

Andrea Coburn pitched all four innings for ISU, collecting one strikeout. Oregon's Melissa Rice pitched all five innings for the Ducks, allowing just one hit with seven strikeouts.

Idaho State continues play in Oregon as the team now travels to Corvallis to face Oregon State. The Bengals will play two games on Sunday against the Beavers, starting at 1 p.m.
