Logan, UT-- ISU men's tennis was defeated by Utah State 5-2. The Aggies have gone head-to-head with the Bengals twice this season and were victorious in both matches. ISU's season record falls to 1-9 with a Big Sky record of 0-4. Utah State's season record improves to 8-7.
The Bengals won two of the three doubles matches to put them ahead 1-0 early in the match. Gal Horovits and Masimba Ruwo defeated Jonas Tyden and Oscar Ericsson 8-4 at the number one doubles spot. Jeremy Atkin and Jordan Leask gained a victory over Mike Banks and Lukas Bouton 8-6 at the number three doubles spot.
Idaho State lost five of the six singles contests to take the 5-2 loss. Horovits defeated Oscar Ericsson 6-1, 6-4 at the number one singles spot. Horovits singles record improves to 6-7. Ruwo fought hard but was defeated 7-5, 6-2 by Hannes Schenk at the number two singles spot. Jeremy Atkin was overcome by Jonas Tyden 6-4, 6-3 at the number three singles spot.
The Bengals last home match for the season is against Big Sky foe Weber State April 19th at Reed Gym at 1 p.m. Come out and support your Bengals!
