Pocatello, ID-- ISU men's tennis was swept by Weber State 7-0. The Wildcats have gone played the Bengals three times this season and were victorious in all three matches. ISU's season record falls to 1-15 with a Big Sky record of 0-5. Weber State's season record improves to 5-15 with a Big Sky record of 2-5.
The Bengals won one of the three doubles matches to put them behind 1-0 early in the match. Gal Horovits and Masimba Ruwo defeated Mario Schnabl and Travis Covington 8-2 at the number one doubles spot. Horovits' and Ruwo's doubles record improves to 6-7. David Kutchins and Ben Lockie fought hard but were defeated by Fabio Mancarella and Dave Hintze 8-4 at the number two doubles spot.
Idaho State lost six of the six singles contests to take the 7-0 loss. Horovits was defeated by Fabio Mancarella 6-3, 6-4 at the number one singles spot. Ruwo was overcome by Schnabl 6-3, 6-2 at the number two singles spot. Jeremy Atkin played tough but was beaten by Covington 6-4, 6-4 at the number three singles spot. Lockie played well but was defeated by Hintze 6-0, 6-3 at the number four singles spot.
The Bengals next match will be April 20th in Bozeman against Montana State at 3:30 p.m.
