Cedar City, UT--Idaho State got back on track Monday with a 4-3 win over Southern Utah at the SUU Tennis Courts. The Bengals won the doubles points and picked up three of the six singles matches to claim the victory, marking the second win over SUU this season.
Idaho State improves to 2-5 with the win.
Katie Zigars and Valerie Espinosa paired to win the No. 1 doubles match, defeating SUU's team of Lelia Kanuha and Deena Jenson, 8-4. Lisel Lewis and Sophie Dang also picked up a doubles win, taking an 8-4 win at the number three spot.
Lewis kept the momentum going in singles, defeating Carmen Blanco 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1. Espinosa and Dang also claimed singles victories at the number two and three spots, respectively.
