Idaho State Drops 1-0 Decision to Arizona State

Las Vegas, NV--Despite a solid defensive effort, Idaho State dropped a season-opening 1-0 decision to Arizona State Friday evening at the UNLV Adidas Classic. The Bengals will continue at the classic on Sunday against Cal State Fullerton.

Arizona State secured the win with a goal in the 51st minute when Carla Scanniello put a ball in the back of the net for the game's only goal. Scanniello ran past ISU keeper Maren Eves and connected on a shot through the middle of the goal.

Natalie Graham led the Bengals with a game-high three shots, one on goal. Michelle Okumura, Annamarie Hofstetter, and Karissa Henage eached each recorded one shot.

ASU out-shot the Bengals 12-6, including a 5-2 advantage on goal. The Sun Devils had the advantage in the second half, out-shooting ISU 6-1.

Eves played all 90 minutes in goal for Idaho State, recording four saves with the one goal allowed.

Idaho State will continue play in Las Vegas against Cal State Fullerton on Sunday. Kick-off is set for noon.
